This video is
The Donner family and friends left Springfield, Illinois, on April 15, 1846, planning to settle in California, claim free land and start a new life. By the time they reached the California mountains, the party numbered 81 people in 23 wagons. But early winter prevented them from reaching their destination and only 40 people survived. The HRD dogs confirm the location and play a small role in rediscovering this tragic yet exciting history.
