We set up one of our Fortress UTV tops next to a standard plastic top in the exact same conditions. We left them in 90 degree heat for 30 minutes.
We then checked the temperature of the bottoms of each of the tops with a electronic temperature gauge. Our insulated Fortress canopy showed to be 23 degrees cooler than a regular plastic canopy. Our layer of insulation acts as a sound deadening agent, but primarily it keeps the heat off of you during the summer, or it keeps the heat in your cab during the cold months.
