How to make Lightning
1.FILE- New Document and you can make it 8x10 or whatever suits your needs.
2.Use the bucket tool to make the background black
3.FILTER-RENDER CLOUDS
4.FILTER-RENDER DIFFERENCE CLOUD
5.APPLE-I for invert (command I for PC)
6.IMAGE-ADJUSTMENTS and move the grey slider darker until you get the desired look.
7.IMAGE-CURVES and tweak it a bit it fine tune it.
8.You can either use COLOR BALANCE or for this example I used IMAGE- HUE/SATURATION check the colorize box and adjust the sliders to get the desired look.
9.Use the text tool to add type. I start with white type and add blending options at the bottom of the layers tool.
