Meh... Adobe is okay. BUT THEY DO overprice their programs. Big time. And I agree. Why can't adobe care for the Mac as they have for Windows? THOSE IDIOTS! Mac users use adobe products more than windows users! And they rip us off? GAH!

This cunt is so fucking stupid, wa wa wa cry ur eyes bitch adobe doesnt make 64 bit cos not enough people would use it for cs4 u dumb cunt. Then u cry bout abode not knowing what they doing? what? they made 21 billion and they dont know what they doin, hahahah yeahok. Photoshop dont want u fagots either mac can fuck off for all abobe cares and they right to shun them. Mac is far behind in the 64bit world

I must say Eric I am right with you mate on this one. After watching your video I done a bit of research for myself on this and you are so right. Adobe have sold out on the Mac users and this is discrimination of the highest level. I would say that there are so many Mac users will be unhappy about this and lets face it with Mac users generically being quite creative people, I would say Adobe get quite a high percentage of their revenue from Mac Users.

Actually, I am more willing to bet that Microsoft paid them off.

By the looks of things lately, I also wouldn't be surprised.

This saddens me very much. And here I was ready to upgrade asap. Now I love/need Adobe for my living as you Eric need Final Cut man. Im going to do a follow up on this to describe what my views are on this. Im going to send you a message though man I have a few questions in regards to composting?

Gerry, no worries. What EDumbass failed to mention was that Adobe has stated OVER AND OVER that they're porting Photoshop CS4 over to 64-bit.

Makes me feel a little better then, because no matter what OS im on, I need, yes, need, Adobe.

Apple dropped support for carbon 64 meaning they have to rewrite in cocoa. So CS5 will be 64 bit.

I've always felt that Adobe suck. There apps are no where near the price they charge. If they reduced the price then people would stop pirating their shit. Seriously everyone I know pirates Photoshop and Flash, if they reduced the price to a decent amount people might actually pay for them.

Final Cut, Aperture and Shake pwn all over Adobe.

And I wont even go into how they have Steve Ballmers dick well and truly lodged up their ass.

No, Adobe is porting Photoshop CS4 over to Cocoa as we speak.

And if you really think you're tough shit, I dare you to take me on with Aperture. I'll use Photoshop and pwn all over your ass. Go on, I even have a retouching video on YouTube.

Do you know why programs get pirated? Because abode lets em. Adobe even releases keygens so that people will grow up using photoshop so when they have to commercially use it, what will they use? photoshop. Hey i like shakes particales a, oh shit wait they suck compared to trapcode onesdamn, photoshop = best photoapp in world, u try make HDR images in other progs much slower i bet u just crop pictures not actually edit 32bit raw photos. and Premiere is same as final cut can do, just has different layout so fuck up bout editing progs cos for what people use em for, they dont really have huge differences, have u ever worked with P2 data in FC? cos its much faster in Adobe.

Yeah, Photoshop and Dreamweaver are so helpful to me, But I can find Mac alternative's that help me ten times more and close under 100 bucks. Adobe is fucking overpriced it makes me want to puke, as well. I am so against paying for their shit, that I haven't to get their product on my Windows machine. :)

(I am not a pirate fan either, but fuck Adobe in the ass with no lube)

The only program that hogs more system resources than an Adobe app is Windows Vista.

Here's the solution to the needs of HALF the Adobe apps, and KompoZer is so AMAZING! http://www.onenw.org/toolkit/alternatives-to-adobe

Fuck Adobe and fuck Flash! They've never given Macs decent support, and now the tables have turned. Flash is losing it's relevance on the web, and now they're the ones begging to have their flash player on the iPhone.

You know, at first not having flash on the iPhone used to annoy me. But now I've gotten used to it and I actually like not having flash and all the stupid banner ads.

I say fuck em man, I hope Steve doesn't allow Adobe to put Flash onto the iPhone. Flash's 5 minutes of fame are over, down with Flash and go AJAX!

You do know that thanks to Flash, you can watch this video on Viddler, YouTube, or add tons of other Flash content to a website to give it a much more unique look and feel right? Oh, that's right you don't know because you're a moron just like ol' meek right here.

Actually you raise a good point. One problem with Viddler is that is uses a stupid Flash interface to play video. Most Flash sites are terrible. They do add a unique 'look and feel', but unless you have the intelligence of a 12 year old, that look and feel probably wont appeal to you.

Like Meek said, his video will probably offend a lot of people, namely morons like you. Fuck Adobe, and if you like Adobe then fuck you too!

What amazes me about you leoslime, is that you think Meek is a moron, but you waste your time watching his videos. If you don't like what he has to say, fuck off, or at the very least, shut the fuck up!

Flash's 5 minutes of fame? What planet are you on retard? It's because of flash that you can watch your gay buddy emeek ramble on about nothing for hours at a time on YouTube and Viddler. Funny that you say flash sites would only appeal to an audience of 12 year olds, yet here you are, on a flash site. I guess it would take a 12 year old mentality to know that...

I'm actually glad Adobe are doing this. This will make them less relevant in the digital photography area which is heavily Mac based. I hope this drives Adobe into the ground.

This is NOT TRUE. Adobe is porting Photoshop CS4 over to Cocoa due to YOUR FAVORITE COMPANY dropping support for 64-bit Carbon.

Actually Mac users will still see performance boost in Photoshop do to their added support for gpu acceleration. Yes, the Windows version of CS4 might have a faster processing time (we're talking 8% here) but overall the performance of Photoshop will increase. The biggest incentive for going 64 bit is to being able to handle larger file sizes. so unless you constantly work with 5 GB images or larger there really isn't a direct need for a 64 bit application. The really place this is gonna hurt Adobe is in nonlinear film editing. What with the new Final Cut being 64 bit the performance difference will be much more noticeable (assuming your working with 4GB+ movies).

AndrewRyan, you've made a spot on comment. 64 bit is more important in terms of memory usage rather than processing speed, a point missed by many people.

I'm amazed how many freaks are coming out of the woodwork here. It seems like all the PC fan boys have found your Viddler site Meek. Time to give em another beating!

What I want to know is, what kind of faggot has so little life that he wastes his time trolling on the site of someone he doesn't like?

Have fun with Vista and enjoy the rest of your sad trolling existence. I'm going to ignore you now, as talking to cockroaches like you is beneath me.

Cendrillion, I just called you out personally in my Demo Reel on YouTube. If you want to see it, go troll your chicken ass over to the channel of LeodimeII and watch it. Honestly, people like you make me so goddamn sick.

Hey, Eric. I completely agree with you on Adobe. I sure hope they don't fuck with Flash in anyway on its distribution to the Mac. I have owned Photoshop CS since it came out and have not even bothered with it in two years because I have been GIMPing it up free of charge instead of shitting 1300 dollars for software that I can get the same fucking thing done with open source apps like GIMP and Inkscape.

And KomPozer is a brilliant copy of Dreamweaver, Three free right there for windows and Mac :D

the only thing I don't like about GIMP and inkscape are that they require X11. True, there is Seashore, but it does not hve everything GIMP does.

Hey Eric! Go get 'em man.

I just wanted to say thanks for the Motion 3 lessons, as well as the tip to use lynda.com for great training. I just posted 3 videos using Motion 3 here on viddler I can partially give you credit for. I used 3D space, cameras, motion tracking, text w/behaviors etc.

http://www.viddler.com/explore/Chadfish/videos/8/
http://www.viddler.com/explore/Chadfish/videos/7/
http://www.viddler.com/explore/Chadfish/videos/5/

I wish all your vids were downloadable as I am keeping a folder handy for when I forget how to do something. Anyway. Keep up the good work bro.

Chadfish

While I can't stand you personally emeek, I have to agree with this video. I am very surprised that Adobe cut support for Macs. That is unbelievable. Like you said, a very large percentage of their customers are Mac users. With this move they have instantly killed a large portion of their user base. Brilliant move there Adobe.

Yeah no 64 bit sucks, I heard cs5 will have it though. One of the main reasons I have been switching over to Aperture more,, its so much faster. Aperture has a bunch of new plugins also like noise ninja, lens correction, sharpening tools etc. so I find PS is much less needed that it used to be. Adobe better watch out because most photographers prefer a mac and if Aperture works better for their workflow theyare going to dump PS.

It's pretty old news actually. I thought everybody already let off their steam by now, but I guess not.

anyway here's a link to John Nack's blog. I believe this is when it was first announced.

http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2008/04/photoshop_lr_64.html

Edit: Just realized you meant the whole Mac users == Zealots thing. Here's the link to blog entry:

http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2006/10/why_no_powerpc.html

Part 1/4:
wait wut? Why shouldn't anybody say the Mac community has a lot of zealots. I just figured it was common knowledge that Mac zealots > BSD zealots (if anybody knows a person who uses BSD you know what I mean by that). Once you have your own Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_evangelist) it's hard to feel sympathy for any name calling.

Part 2/4
Now to the meat of the situation. Adobe was under the impression that the Carbon API would support 64 bit due to the whole "until-WWDC-that-was-the-lowdown" thing. Once it was announced that apple would drop 64 bit support for Carbon, Adobe was left with their dicks in their ass pretty much. unlike Window's 64 bit API which is just window's 32 bit API++, writing the code in Cocoa would require the software to be rewritten from the ground up (that takes longer to do than editing the current code). It's true they had plenty of time beforehand to rewrite the code of their lineup to Cocoa, but you have to realize that spending millions of dollars to do so when it was required is as stupid as spending millions of dollars to support Linux. You can't blame adobe for making responsible business decisions.

Part 3/4:
Assuming Adobe could com out with an entire recode of their entire software library is also making two major assumptions:
1. Good programmers are easy to come by and love working 80 hour work weeks
2. The more people you add to a group the faster that group works.
I have never seen an occasion where either of those assumptions proved true.

Part 4/4:
Digressing a bit to the topic of the cost of Adobe products, I think most people have a skewed view of the target market of Adobe products. Photoshop and the like are professional level software applications. To say they are overpriced is to say that $2,500 isn't a drop in the bucket to businesses taking full advantage of these applications. If you look in the competing professional market of applications, all are priced within the same range or more as there Adobe counterparts. I'm not saying adobe is the best at all the do or anything, for instance in my opinion CorelDRAW stomps the balls out of Illustrator in its current state. All I'm saying is, if you aren't either learning to use or getting payed to use X adobe product, you really don't need to use it and the same applies for all professional applications. In the same retrospect don't go to your boss touting the wonderful uses of the Gimp, he will laugh in your face and wipe his ass with a $50 bill.

Part 5/4 Bonus Stage:
Well I think I said more than enough. Of course I didn't provide any sources to this could just be me talking out of my ass for all you know.
In the mean time I think I'll take a nap and dream of the lighting fast 8% performance increase I'll get using the new Photoshop CS4. Wait what's this, 64 bit for Vista only...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Andrew, you said it all. I can't believe this idiot just went out of his way to say such shit about Adobe. The GIMP is for the homeless and degenerate. I wouldn't dare install such junk to my hard drive a second time.

I in no way meant that GIMP was a terrible program. Quite oppositely, It's a wonderful application that 70% of Photoshop users could use and well, not feel gimped. On the other hand, for the price it charges, Photoshop offers more utilities and a better streamline. Really the only bad thing about it in perspective to industry application is that it is free and open source. Joe Business doesn't care about how much a program cost, because Joe Business is going to profit one hundred fold. To enthusiast or consumers on the other hand. the profit margin is not so grand. It's like comparing comparing Picasa or Bridge, neither are targeted to the same people.

Dude, I have used Adobe for has long as I can remember and I used both operating system. There is nothing wrong with upgrading while it happens it's part of marketing and making money for the their company.

It used to be that Mac versions of Adobe apps were much better than on Windows. Not anymore.

Adobe has gone out of their way to make the Mac version of their products better. They even added a one-window feature into Photoshop CS4.

Emeek, you're even stupider on Viddler! Adobe is porting over Photoshop from Carbon (Objective-C++) to Cocoa (Objective-C) due to the fact that APPLE said they're dropping support for Carbon. Adobe is hard at work on porting it over to 64-bit right this minute and it'll be available in the coming weeks. They've stated this OVER AND OVER again.

I have use apple Preview to do some photo work.

I am very happy to hear that Final Cut Studio 3 will be 64 bit. I think that snow leopard is going to be all Cocoa. Not sure. By the way you mean writing applications.
I love to use apples software but I plan to help make that software better in the future. I don't know how to write applications but I plan to learn how.

oh and Apple Employees are encouraged to use the Applications they help write or help make possible in any way. I read that on their job site.

Dude, Adobe has had a "screw the world" attitudes for decades.

Pound for pound, they still make the best software and I've made TON of money because of them since the late 80s.

Not that I'm defending Adobe by any means, I went through the last time Apple required everyone to completely switch code architecture to handle the PowerMac platform. It's extremely hard work and when you're dealing with millions of lines of code, it's even harder. Incompetence has nothing to do with it. The effort is substantial.

That is REALLY upsetting. The leader of a large corporation would say that? When Apple had supported them with large contracts in the past.

I don't see why Adobe is ignoring Apple, they are a huge portion of the creative community.

I'll stick with CS3 rather then CS4, it's not all that tempting to me to make that switch at all, way to much time an effort just for a 32 bit app.

Hmm.... Yeah I quite agree with this. Still I will continue to use Adobe, I rely on it.

Actually, they do. They just have not made it easy to access the educational store in the past.

Looks like you've hit a raw nerve here Eric. Look at all the Adobe Fan Boys get their knickers into a twist. And as usual, the PC Trolls come in looking to bait. If you all like PC so much than go and use your piece of shit Vista and be happy. Don't know why you're so angry, if Mac is such a piece of shit as you say you should all be glad to be using Windows.

Or is all this hostility just because you faggots are using a piece of shit OS, and are too poor to afford a decent system?

Too bad, so sad, but we don't care, so fuck off!

@Cendrillon

"Or is all this hostility just because you faggots are using a piece of shit OS, and are too poor to afford a decent system?"
If you meant they can't afford a Mac System

Well their Computer they have at least if it has vista. It has enough power to us a Hacked version of Mac Leopard or even Tiger.

Now I think apple should do something about that. In their next release.

Oh i forgot efix is developing something to make a PC seem like a Mac to a Mac CD so no hacking involved.

@ jaredstechshow
if you were talking to me about my last post.

http://www.efi-x.com/index.php?language=english

You raise a good point MacGuy. These PC Fan Boys claim that Macs suck, but then they secretly install OS X on their PCs when no one is looking.

So which is it, do Macs suck, or do they just secretly just Mac wannabes?

Haha, the fact that their even on here trolling just goes to show how jealous they are. Enjoy Fista you faggots!

Now altho I think that Mac OS X should only work on Mac's. I am a little happy for those nice but poor people who can afford a mac yet. But I still think they should try and save for one.

Now for the selfish and bad people who are either poor or rich. I think should not have such a privilege.

And I guess those jealous PC fan boys who secretly like mac or have a hacked version. Must really thrive on jealousy. I think they should admit their real feelings And buy a Mac.

Now I am not hear to force Mac onto people. I think they should use what they like.
Some of my family members like windows better than Mac. And that is Ok with me.

Oh wow, you guys realize that this video was about Adobe CS4 Right? By derailing into this Mac vs PC crap you're just falling for the trollbait. You know that thing your parents told you about ignoring bullies? Well it actually works on the internet. Just rat down and move on. I just realized how hypocritical this was.

How about we all ignore the troll comments, and rely on Eric to block troll accounts from his boards.

I agree with you on this one. However, I would never say generically that Adobe sucks because their CS3 and previous were AMAZING and have a reason why they dominate the market. I totally don't understand why Adobe did not put CS4 out 64 bit for Mac, and the amount they charge is just waaay out of proportion. Nice video, but once again, my only complaint is dont say Adobe is generically rubbish, because it's not really.

oooooo man get pwnd by Adobe!!!!!

ahahahhahahahahahha!!!!!!!!

Eric, by making this video, you only proved John Nack to be right. You got your retarded ass on camera and whined like a bitch because he called you what you really are. A MAC PURIST.
