JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-The decommissioned Coast Guard Cutter Spike, a former construction tender, is shown sinking approximately 30 miles east of Jacksonville Friday, July 17, 2009, to become part of an artificial reef called Harms Ledge.
Several agencies participated in the sinking. Many boaters in the area are gathered to watch the Spike sink.
